The 'Gloria Scott': Norfolk Broads

Canon Story: The 'Gloria Scott'

Author's Notes: Donnithorpe is a little hamlet just to the north of Langmere, in the country of the Broads.

From Ibeza to the Norfolk Broads -“Life On Mars?” by David Bowie

This is the only explanation I can come up with for the timeline in this story.

“Holmes, you cannot have been an undergraduate in 1885! You were 27 when I met you in ’81!”

“The first time in 1891, I did fall into the chasm. I woke up in 1881, not knowing if I were mad, in a coma or back in time…”

“You’ve been drinking with that Inspector Tyler again.”

“Sam is a fine fellow.”

A/N: Life on Mars property of Matthew Graham, Tony Jordan, Ashley Pharoah and the BBC.

The Gloria Scott: Victor Trevor Returns

Canon Story: The Gloria Scott
Title: Victor Trevor Returns
Author: thesmallhobbit
Rating: G

Holmes’ expression when Victor Trevor walked into 221B was one I will cherish for a long time.  Trevor’s years in Terai had taken their toll but they vanished from his face on seeing the joy in Holmes’ eyes as he realised he was back.  I tactfully retreated to my room, knowing that their happiness was as mine when Lestrade returns.

The 'Gloria Scott': Secrets of a Scientific Mind

Canon Story: The Gloria Scott
Title: Secrets of a Scientific Mind
Author: [livejournal.com profile] vaysh11
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: Netley Hospital, or the Royal Victoria Hospital, is were Dr Watson trained to become an army surgeon.

I had just stored away the cylinder when Holmes made me reveal my own tattoo – a youthful folly, acquired at Netley before being shipped out to Kabul.

"Any dark secrets in my past?" I couldn't help asking as Holmes observed the letters.

"Merely a temperament," he kissed my elbow with a smile, "that you hide all too well, my friend."
