The Musgrave Ritual: The Watson-Holmes Ritual

Canon Story: The Musgrave Ritual
Title: The Watson-Holmes Ritual
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scfrankles
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: Our chambers were always full of chemicals and of criminal relics which had a way of wandering into unlikely positions, and of turning up in the butter-dish or in even less desirable places. Watson is a little treasure. And in danger of getting buried under Holmes’ belongings.

“Holmes, whose is this?!”

“He who was hanged.”

“And who owns these?"

“He who is yet to be arrested.”

“Why are they in the butter-dish?”

“I shall remove them presently.”

“Pray, where are your chemicals..?”

“Under your chair.”

“I shall have to take steps.”

“Away to new lodgings..?”

“Do you wish me to go?”

“Never, Watson. You’re invaluable to me.”

I like this updated version. I wonder how many times they went through it.

*huge smile* I can see the two clearly, having this very dialogue on the day after Holmes told Watson about the Musgrave Ritual. I am imagine Watson a tad annoyed (about the thingie in the butter-dish) and Holmes rather tongue in cheek until Watson mentions "steps".
