This is another of the stories that I was unable to share at the time.  It was again a case where Mycroft Holmes had called on his brother’s expertise and which resulted in Holmes exposing the duplicitous nature of the captain, whose tiredness was caused by his pretence of being two completely separate people, with the resultant lack of sleep.

*grins* I just love how ACD keeps referring to *other stories* and I wonder whether this is an early form of self-advertising. Now of course, I'd love to read the Story of the Tired Captain. It sounds very intriguing (multiple personalities?)

I quite like what you came up with in this adventure, and it leaves the little gray cells in high gear imagining the rest of the tale that hangs between your perfectly chosen words.

I also like very much that you took on the Tired Captain as this week, since in the story proper we had also the Adventure of the Tired Foreign Office Clerk and the Tired Commissaire. Methinks something is a(Devil's?)foot.
