The Final Problem: Void

I am slowly catching up. :)

Canon Story: The Final Problem
Title: Void
Author: [livejournal.com profile] vaysh
Pairing: Holmes/Watson implied
Rating: G
Words: 60
Author's Note: Title taken from this line: ... that event which has created a void in my life which the lapse of two years has done little to fill.

The image of Holmes standing before a backdrop of Alpine grey and white was burned into my mind. I saw it during those sleepless nights when the police searched for his body. It was the reason for the closing of my practice, and ultimately, the failure of my marriage. With Holmes gone, my life, too, had come to an end.

You've caught Watson's grief so well. It is a heartbreaking moment when Watson has his last glimpse of Holmes (only realising later it is his last glimpse). It was a cruel thing for Holmes to do - letting Watson go. Though he must have thought it was for the best.
