The Reigate Squires: A Doctor Writes

Canon Story: The Reigate Squires
Title: A Doctor Writes (as featured in the Marylebone Illustrated)
Author:thesmallhobbit
Rating: G

This year I have been treating a number of patients for lassitude following an illness.  Where possible I recommend a change of scenery for a few days, with plenty of fresh air.  A trip to the countryside is ideal; for those unable to travel a walk in the park should be beneficial.  It is however important not to overexert oneself.

Wise, wise words. And the writer's style seems so familiar - such a delightful vocabulary. Could this article be the work of a certain former army doctor..?

Yes, avoiding overexertion makes a lot of sense. Overexertion of one's acting talents can be particularly troublesome, I find :)

The occasional murder-solving may serve to induce interest in a lethargic patient.

Sound advice indeed! Unless you're the type who can find an irresistible puzzle in even the most remote places. (It seems to be an occupational hazard of certain detectives, mostly.) I'm not sure anything can be done for them. They'd probably find a mystery on the moon. :-p
