The Devil's Foot: Mrs. Sterndale

Canon Story: The Devil's Foot
Rating: Gen
Content Note: Noir style
Summary: Someone else is pretty pleased about Holmes's version of justice.

“Johnny.”
I blinked. Did the devil’s foot still linger in my veins?
“My husband confessed?”
“Sterndale?!”
“I like energetic men, or don’t you remember, Johnny?”
“You’re hard to forget, Susanna.”
“Mister Holmes let him go? Good. I liked Brenda. The brother?” She grimaced.
“You’re looking well.”
She winked and blew a smoke-ring. “Wait ‘til you see me in widow’s weeds.”

Ah yes, Sherlock Holmes' one true weakness - his inability to comprehend dames.

I like your style, madam ^__^ I love particularly Watson being 'Johnny' ^__^

It's an intriguing glimpse of the estranged Mrs. Sterndale. And bit of an unnerving ending there... ^^"

Oh...that's an interesting direction to head in, I had forgotten about the absent wife.

The ill judged or secret first marriage seems a common theme...noble bachelor, yellow face, missing three quarter...

I think Sterndale may have met his match.
