The Dying Detective: Evicted

Canon Story: The Dying Detective
Title: Evicted
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scfrankles
Rating: G
Author's Notes: “There are my prisons," he continued, pointing to a row of bottles and jars which stood upon a side table. "Among those gelatine cultivations some of the very worst offenders in the world are now doing time." ...the pictures of celebrated criminals with which every wall was adorned. “...for me the microbe… for him the villain…”

Culverton Smith was poking around the attic. “So where will I sleep?”

Holmes laughed. “You’re not staying.”

He escorted Smith down the stairs and—

Holmes opened his eyes.

Picking up Smith’s police photograph, he hung it carefully on the wall.

“There!”

He smiled at all the villains in their pictorial prisons.

“Must keep my mind tidy for the next case.”

Ha! Smith isn't even worth a storage spot in the lumber-room of Holmes' mind.

Like Peter Pan's line in the book, when after their adventure Wendy has to remind him who Captain Hook was - "I always forget them after I kill them."

Interesting visual. Maybe the murder weapon will warrant some space.

Ah, you're thinking of the box, which I agree will warrant space (probably not under the exact label you mention), but I was still thinking of the bacteria. Add it after curare and a skin disease that looks a lot like leprosy but isn't.

Yes, don't want stray villains wandering around the mind attic unaccompanied.
