Once he has won, only the bare ink and paper of ownership concern him. The resource is his to enjoy, exploit, exhaust... and grow as tired of, in time, as any other fulfilled deal.

Thank you. I just didn't buy Holmes's sudden turnaround from "rich men like you" to "oh, now they will live happily and morally ever after, jolly good show"

Ouch. That cuts to the bone. I love that we often get to see through the women's eyes in your 60s. Their voices (if not their beautiful faces) are usually drowned out.

As chivalrous as ACD can be to women in his writing, the sense of their own voice is often lacking, and I thought that the expectation of a turnaround in Gibson's character was pretty unbelievable. Not to say it can never happen, but I didn't buy it here.
