TWIS -- The Man with the Twisted Lip

“You have a grand gift of silence,” I told Watson, but I might have more accurately told him that he has a grand gift of presence. I scarcely believed it when I saw him in the depths of the opium-den. Who else would my mind conjure but my dear friend? His companionship turned my depressed, vexed thoughts about the case into anticipation of what adventures lay ahead.

I wonder how many times Holmes conjured Watson's image after he married Mary and moved out? I suspect Holmes found his Watson-habits hard to break.

Nicely done, even if Holmes was incorrect about the reason Watson was there; the sudden lifting of his spirits says a lot:-)
