Canon Story: The Speckled Band
Title: En Route
Author: Castiron
Rating: G

I had married my husband to gain a protector for my daughters, not an assailant. And his imprisonment has not taught him to subdue his violent tendencies.

There is little hope, but I am consulting a solicitor nonetheless to see whether anything can be done -- if not for me, then for my children.

Crewe, then only a few stations more....

Of course; another life lost. Chilling.

A tragic tale - poor Julia and Helen - losing their mother but gaining a monster of a stepfather. Not always an easy life. Thanks for this new POV to consider! Well composed and written :)

The poor woman. Impossible for Roylott to have arranged the accident, but still.

An unexpected perspective, and therefore very interesting...thank you for drawing attention to this aspect of the story.

Oh, no! Wow, this is a punch in the stomach. Terrific work highlighting someone almost totally forgotten in the story.

Oh, interesting POV to work from! Poor woman, she must have been so distressed at her husband's true nature. At least she was able to do something before she died.

Hadn't expected anything from the prospective of the late Mrs. Roylott. But I very much like that I've now seen something! She did make a point to take some care of her daughters financially and she thought she was protecting them rather than condemning them. It's such a strong move at the time and yet it doesn't quite work out.

These what-if thoughts are the most agonising, aren't they? Impressive!
