“An invitation, I perceive. Watson, pray, read it out loud?”
“You are cordially invited to attend the reception of…”
“Wait. You can stop there. I won’t go. It’s a rich nobleman’s social gathering. Never interesting. Hours of tedium.”
An impish grin spread across Holmes’ face. “I’d rather be a monkey in the company of Dr. Roylott.”
