A/N: So the first of these came out of me wondering about Watson’s insistence over a particular quirk of Holmes’ character in the opening paragraph while the second is entirely
thesmallhobbit’s fault.
All emotions and that one particularly are abhorrent to his cold, precise but admirably balanced mind.
Holmes sighed and placed down his copy of The Strand.
“You’re still angry with me, aren’t you?”
There was a pointed silence from the other side of the room.
“May I remind you it was you who left me to get married-“
“Hmph.”
Huff. “I apologise, John. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. I do love you.”
“I know.”

“Your majesty has something which I should value even more highly,” said Holmes.
“You have but to name it.”
“Her garter.”
“Her garter!” cried the King, removing a black frilly object from his pocket. “But why ever would you want that?”
“I have my reasons,” said Holmes, snatching it then pausing to give me a look that was oddly appraising.
