Canon Story: The Man with the Twisted Lip
Title: Other Men's Wives
Author: Mary Sutherland
Rating: PG-13

Isa Whitney's wife sought frantically after her drug-enslaved husband. I did not doubt that Mrs St. Clair would remain loyal to a man who had lied to her for years. Yet my boy Watson granted me only a night's companionship and a shared breakfast before abandoning me again. For my secret is an affection more shameful than any ordinary man's.

Aw... poor Holmes. :-( This was lovely, though. And makes an interesting parallel between the shameful drug addiction portrayed in the story and other, potentially more shameful interests.

Ow ow ow. The shame and loneliness embedded here is stabbing.

my boy... a night's companionship... a shared breakfast...

Little memories that each hurt individually. Terrific angst in this 60. I love it.

Agree with above - full of angst and painful loneliness. Sad!
Nicely written.
