Holmes sounded almost melancholy after his explanation of Mr Wilson’s attributes was met with dismissal. I longed to reach across, grasp his hand and earnestly assure him that I, as always, was astonished by his observational powers. Alas, the society we live in banned me from doing so, leaving me with the resolution to make it up to him later.

That's what I love about canon!Watson. He's so considerate and kind, and he'd pay attention to these little but all the more important details. You did a great job delivering that rather defining character trait of his.
