Author's Notes: Mycroft Holmes absolutely and indignantly declined to climb the railings.

Mycroft Holmes did attempt the railings, with myself offering support.

I was never certain how to address Holmes’ brother: “Sir, if you put…”

He slipped, I fell and we finished in an embrace on the ground.

I was mortified.

“My dear sir...!”

“Watson,” said the elder Holmes. “I think it may now be permissible for you to call me Mycroft.”

It was probably as well that Mycroft Holmes did not try climbing the railings.  Whilst his brother could slip over without being spotted, his attempts would surely have drawn attention to us.  All he said later was ‘I am pleased to see you and Lestrade are still on good terms’.  How did he see us holding hands in the gloom?
