“It’s the Bible stories again,” said Mama. “Sherlock deduced that, as he tempted Eve towards knowledge, the serpent must have been the first teacher.”

“Yes,” beamed the child. “So I told Miss Brown she’s a devil.”

Ocelot's Note: We are delighted to have received the following from Teddy the Mongoose

The master is now very happy in his new accommodation.  Mrs Barclay recommended him as a deserving old soldier who once served with her late husband, and no-one could resist the appeal of such a charming widow.  Oh, someone recommended the master keep a small bird for company, but he did not like the idea.  I do not know why!
