“I don’t need them!” Holmes looked down at the letter. “Expensive paper, a woman’s handwriting…”

“But what does the lady say?”

Holmes held the letter at arm’s length. After a few moments he tossed it aside and I knew I had won.

“Holmes,” I said, “you observe, but you do not see.”

My dear inspector was still sleeping when Mr Holmes rose in the morning.  He did not stir until the coffee was made, when he opened his sweet grey eyes and a small smile lightened his beautiful face.  As he sat up I watched entranced as he stretched his manly limbs and in mellow tones thanked Mr Holmes for the drink.
