Canon Story: Wisteria Lodge

Rating: G

Author’s Note: Inspired by this photo of a porcelain tea cup that has a built-in ledge to protect a gentleman’s moustache from staining.

“… once again the grotesque has deepened into the criminal, Watson.”

Mrs. Hudson laid the tray between us. “How right you are, sir. It’s criminal how the doctor abuses his poor moustache.” She turned and handed me my tea. “A new cup for you, sir.”

Holmes glanced across the table and smiled. “As ingenious a solution as ever I conceived.”

Title: Wisteria Lodge: Bones, Part II
Author: gardnerhill
Word Count: 60
Rating: G
Warning: Crackish.
Summary: Can be thought of as an unofficial sequel to this 60-word tale.

***

“One distinct advantage that Surrey holds,” said Sherlock Holmes, “is that it boasts far better trained forensic people than in many other places. Such as those in Norwood. “

I buried my grin behind my paper. “Say, a doctor who can immediately tell that certain bones are not human, versus mistaking dog or rabbit bones for a Mr. Jonas Oldacre?”

Title: A Love Interest
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scfrankles
Rating: G
Author's Notes: “...a common female name in Spain." “I may add that Miss Burnet's age and character make it certain that my first idea that there might be a love interest in our story is out of the question.” Signora Durando is “forty or thereabouts.”

Sister Cecilia gently rocked the baby. “Couldn’t your husband’s family..?”

“I am a widow of some years.” The lady swallowed. “Her father was a good man but he’s dead too.”

She cast one last, longing look at the child.

“I’ve chosen her name but it might be kinder to change it.”

The lady stood to go.

“It’s Dolores. For sorrow.”

Title: Property Announcement (as featured in the Marylebone Illustrated)
Author:thesmallhobbit

Anderson, North & Tallis are delighted to announce the availability of two delightful properties in Oxshott.  One would suit a single gentleman, or married couple.  The other would be ideal for a family, with plenty of rooms for servants, plus grounds.  These properties are certain to be popular, so early viewing is recommended.  Only two miles from the railway station.
