Author's Notes: I was trying to be subtler, but the risk at 60 words is that subtle becomes confusing. Takes place appr. 5 years after CROO.


The grave was never without flowers. Mercy had loved them in all colours. Until her death, those three years ago.
Mary stroked the gravestone, as she always did. As always, she remembered their last conversation.
‘Your husband being in Aldershot does not mean that by coming here you won’t destroy your mission.’
‘Very well. Have it your way.’

Argh, sorry, I just realised there was a mistake in it. By the time this is happening, Mercy's been dead for three years, not five. Sorry! I guess that was confusing.

She got herself in, I didn't even notice until a reader pointed it out to me. ^^"
