A/N: I find this story deeply weird and not very satisfying for many reasons, but I quite like Mrs Durando.

My heart burned with fury when I looked at him. It was well that I knew how to smile through my grief and rage, for I often to scream at him, to scratch at his face, to slit his throat, to make him pay for what he had done to my Victor.

I did not. I smiled, and I waited.

Mrs. Durango deserves all these things, not the least for having to live under the same roof as this monster. Her patience pays off in the end, thankfully.

Your 60 does make me wonder why there was ever a case for Holmes to get involved in, for surely she would have found a way to kill him long before the events in Wisteria Lodge. Very thought-provoking!

I agree about Mrs Durando, who's a severely underrated heroine - but then, of course, she's forty and not beautiful and thus not of interest to Dr Watson.
