Watson took the envelope, ripping open the thick paper. A small notebook fell out.
“Why, it is a mathematical instruction on calculating horse race winners.” Watson’s face fell when he leafed through the handwritten pages. “Unfortunately, I don’t understand a word.”
Holmes smiled.
“This is where my present comes in.”

I've never watched a dragon run before. *stares in fascination*

I dimly remember reading about someone coming up with a computer program for working out the winning horse. Each time the answer would be whatever horse had been selected as the favourite, so it wasn't a great deal of use ^__^ I'm sure Jane's present would be a lot more help - once Watson was able to follow it ^^"
