Author's Note: Reading these stories in a chronological order has been fascinating. There is a real sense of time passing and things changing. Just like real life.
Age was gaining on us, and ever we ran forward to stay ahead of the sunset. But after losing a fight he'd earlier have won, Holmes could no longer deny the truth.
His bruises healed. His cuts mended. His muscle stiffness eventually eased. His headaches did not.
"You cannot continue this forever."
For the first time, he did not argue.
