Date: 2014-02-18 10:25 pm (UTC)"Literal magnifying glass" is quite correct. :) Hancock chemist and the Gaiety Toilet Club existed, as well as - obviously until this day - Serjeants' Inn. I looked at a look of old pictures from Fleet Street and the Strand.
