I never got used to them pronouncing the name "wrongly" ^^" Anyway, very nice ^_^

I never even realised there were two pronunciations floating around of Lestrade's name. (The audiobook version of the Norwood Builder also had the one you are using here.) I kind of love the rhythm of the longer final line. Wonderful done.

Delightful! I'd been so fixated on Lestrade's embarrassing defeat that I'd quite forgotten what you point out here- that Holmes was remarkably generous to his vanquished foe. Much nicer than Lestrade was when the shoe appeared to be on the other foot. :D

I tried to work "straw man" into my clerihews this week but couldn't quite make it work.
