Does Watson give in too easily to Holmes? I read the earlier discussion of this case on the comm, and I find it persuasive that Watson was exaggerating how long he was fooled.
It's quite likely that Holmes never made a serious try at it. At the end he says "Among your many talents dissimulation finds no place." But surely a physician needs to practice that sort of dissimulation?
