Author's Notes: Hopefully not too late.  I had to reconcile Mary with the love that dare not speak its name.

I loved my wife. Never doubt that. I loved her from the first moment I saw her. But I could see the confusion in her eyes every time I leapt up to be at his side. My sorrow is that I never dared explain that I loved him too, and that for me, the two loves were not entirely incompatible.

Oh, ouch! But also so very touching and human. I love how your Watson loves them both, and that the thing that hurts him most is that he could never reconcile that with all parties.

Thank you! I do believe that it is possible to love two people romantically at once. I haven't, but I know people who do.
