Miss Morstan looked at me so fondly as I told my tale, although she seemed to be trying not to smile.  I could not understand this, for surely a story involving the appearance of a tiger cub should be frightening and not amusing.  And yet, as I spoke of how I was instantly alert, I am certain she almost laughed.

This is such a sweet part of the story ^^

They fall in love and decide to get married so quickly - I like to think of a few weeks later when they know each other better and Mary is able to tease Watson about his verbal slips ^_^

Thank you. I'm sure it did - Watson was probably more concerned at the whereabouts of its mother.

I suspect that given the chance the two of them would have happily sat together all evening, so it was possibly as well they had Holmes with them to remind them they were on a case.
