I like "attention/mention". As you say, Holmes does apparently continue to bring up Irene Adler with Watson even after the case has finished.

Thank you very much! I never heard of clerihews until I found this comm. This just sort of came to me while I was doing something else--I think they're getting under my skin!

Thank you! Right in the first paragraph we learn that Holmes brings up the subject enough for Watson to know he has a clear preference for one term ("The Woman") over another. To me that suggests there were more than a few mentions after the fact.

And of course, he kept the picture... ;)
