“You were never known as a flatterer.”
“I look at your picture every day. I would still have known you anywhere.”
“And I you. The silver in your hair makes you all the more distinguished. But in truth, you would have recognised me had I been in disguise?”
“I am never caught out twice.”
I accidentally wrote this as a 100 word drabble to start with, so the above sentence immediately continues with:
I was sorry to learn the news about Norton.”
“Thank you. You must miss Dr Watson.”
“This winter has been a long one. You have coped by yourself again?”
“Indeed I have. I, like you, Mr Holmes, am a survivor.”
