I tensed when I saw two shadowy figures heading towards my current location. Could those be that brute Gorgiano’s accomplices? Or just some random passers-by?

Then the light fell upon their faces. I relaxed with relief.

Just the man I need to see! Ever calm, even with ruthless murderer lurking upstairs.

And what’s better, even Mr. Holmes is with him.

Wonderful to see this moment in the story from Gregson's pov. Holmes may not be pleased to be a mere afterthought of Gregson's sense of relief, but Watson definitely is the calm, dependable one of the two. :)
