Summary: Holmes decides without knowing all the facts.
Warnings: Not much. There are a few spoilers for LADY.
Word Count: 60, and then 100.
Author's Notes: 60 words of my own inspired by one of the canon stories. This week, I've also included an "extended play" version of 100 words.

Extra-special shout-out: Tospacemutineer, who is keeping this comm cranking and managing to get discussion posts and reminders out faithfully every week, despite lots of challenges, real life, etc. She's under the weather this week, yet still manages to do everything. *bows down* You are amazing!
Getting these down to 60 words each week is a definite challenge. For those curious, the "first draft" this week was 98 words, so instead of just whittling it down, I also added two more words and included that version as the "extended play" extra.
I admit it – I sent Watson alone. I reasoned to myself that the type of criminal that commonly preys upon friendless women would be no match for my battle-hardened friend.
My blood ran cold when I learned that the criminal in the matter was Holy Peters, one of the most dangerous Australian-born villains.
I left London on the next train.
"Extended Play" version - 100 words:
I was a trifle uneasy in sending Watson alone on the trail of the missing Lady Frances. My friend is stalwart and brave, and far more intelligent than he gives himself credit for, but he is not subtle. Still, I reasoned to myself that the type of criminal that commonly preys upon friendless women would be no match for my battle-hardened Watson.
My blood ran cold when I learned that the criminal in the matter was no common one, but Holy Peters, one of the most dangerous criminals ever to emerge from Australia.
I left London on the next train.

It's always fascinating to me to see how people work their own process, wrangle their own sentences. The tone in the two pieces is ever so slightly different, and I find that very interesting to examine. Thanks for posting them both, and thanks for just being you! :)
