One of the accepted names for Mrs Hudson is Martha, which is the one I use.

However, although Mycroft's broom cupboard, although less convenient, would certainly have some advantages.

I agree, that is a different Martha. But there has to be space for more than one Martha (since she doesn't strike me as a Violet).

If you are happy enjoying the broom cupbaord as Mycroft's then that's equally fine by me.
