I don't think Watson's antipathy to Wagner quite qualifies as a recurring joke, but it comes up now and again. For example, it's in Coules's first version of HOUN, the one from 1988 with Roger Rees and Crawford Logan, during the closing minute of the episode. It's also in the extra-canonical Further Adventures, such as this pair of excerpts from "The Striking Success of Miss Franny Blossom."
