Yes, I think autumn or spring would be better. We were in Salzburg on a hot day in May and there was only so much we could do it was too hot.

It's much the same here. We're having to leave congress sessions because it's so ridiculously stifling and I got a whopper of a sunburn having dinner outdoors with colleagues.

When I was in Vienna you couldn't take three steps without passing a store selling Mozartkugeln (aka Mozart Candies or Mozart Balls) - fudge center, marzipan mantle and covered with chocolate and the whole thing wrapped in gold foil with a picture of Wolfie on the front. You can really only get them in the States around Christmastime at Cost Plus or the like, and they sell out fast.

I've got to the bottom of that... it was some type of pistachio-flavored special one for some occasion that was clearly explained in German. I found a store just off Stephansplatz selling just the normal ones when I finally got to spend time in the city center.

Scratch that last "explanation"-- the "normal" one was the special one.

Sadly, they all needed to be sampled. Poor me.
