That Woodley, ‘im what’s staying at Charlington Hall, came in and started shouting and swearing at this other geezer and then ‘e takes a real swipe at ‘im.  You’d think that would ‘ave stopped the other bloke, a toff an’ all, but no, ‘e lands a proper punch at Woodley and we ‘ad to send ‘im ‘ome in the cart.

I like to imagine that Woodley wasn't the most popular man in the pub anyway, so there was a fair amount of cheering when he was laid out.

*snicker* This was one of the great moments in the story, and I love how you built out on it! "We 'ad to send 'im 'ome in the cart" was particularly delightful. :-)
