Sometimes I wonder what someone would make of my tales if they were to read them in 100 years time; not that I expect this to happen.  I am sure that Holmes’ deductions would appear as brilliant as they are now; but what of our attitudes?  Would they seem as dated as those of 100 years ago seem to us?

I assume it will be along the lines of "what a bunch of egotistical ignorant idiots!" :P

I often think about things like this -- wishing I could go back in time and tell people that their work survived the ages and how it is received now.

I'd like to think that Watson would be open-minded enough to think that his era's prejudices were likely to be worn away in time, but I'm not certain of it.

Very thought-provoking!

LOVE this bit of meta, and what a wonderful way to address some of the more uncomfortable elements of this story. Brava!
