A/N: Reading 3GAR harkened back to another of ACD story that I recently watched on Granada’s adaption of the REDH. Hope you don’t mind references to both in this little piece.

The moral to this tale: If you have a name like Smith and plain brown hair never fear. If, however, your name sounds queer like Garrideb or your hair is flaming red beware. Criminals with imagination may use their cunning resourcefulness to make a fool of you. Don’t believe me; ask the eccentric, professor Nathan, or the imprudent, pawnbroker, Jabez.
