The good doctor has gotten used to many of my ways, sadly without looking past most of them. When I stay in bed for days, it is hardly ever due to fatigue, and much more in favour of the speed the depths of mind will only produce when consciousness is carefully subdued.
Nonetheless, it is simply a very lovely bed.

Interesting alternative to the common idea that Holmes is just in a mood down-swing on those occasions.

Oh, is that the common interpretation?! I'd have been far more practical, as in the long phases of rest naturally alternating with particularly exhausting cases. Of course, those usually intertwine.

A lot of artists use phases of extreme relaxation to gather their inspiration, and I guess Holmes usually smokes for that effect, but I just couldn't let the idea of a mussed-up detective happily slobbering onto his pillow in half-sleep go by. ;P

Yes, yes, the pains of university hours. Reminds me of how I had to sit in a completely unheated room (we used to have about -25°C that winter) at 7am, Monday, for lectures.
