Canon Story: The Three Students

Watson was certainly right in his assumptions that I would not enjoy the stay, however necessary. What surprised me though was that he understood the reasons. I was not troubled over some uncomfortable memories, or I would certainly have gotten rid of them, if there had been any.
I wonder… Has Watson ever told me about his time of studies?

Interesting question. Now the next one, would Holmes even remember if Watson told him?

I think it's kinda cute how Holmes is so out of sorts by being outside his familiar surroundings - just a touch of obsessive compulsive disorder :P

I think Holmes remembers a good deal more about Watson that he would admit to. Canon Holmes is a more socially aware person than BBC Holmes (not that that would take much IMO).

It doesn't take OCD to be out of sorts away from home, surely - you just have to know what you like and be comfortable there. Living in someone else's house (especially a stranger) for weeks would I think make most people less than easy. And Holmes isn't most people, he goes to more extremes :-)

Me too, I dislike all the long distance fictional diagnosing, and having witnessed the acute suffering my friend goes through with bouts of OCD, I hate putting such a label on mild discomfort and distorientation with unfamilar surroundings.

Skull? That's a BBC invention, nothing about it in ACD...

who knows where he and Watson are lodging. Might be right next to the Institute of Oyster Studies LOL.

I wonder if this unsettledness is as reflected in Holmes' comments about the perils of the countryside? Comfortable with his own territory. And regarding Watson's studies...is he curious enough and interested enough to ask him?

A fair point:-) Doesn't stop him trying to fill every unforgiving minute with 90 seconds worth of distance run, though:-)

Holmes is definitely a creature of habit. Good thing he brought one familiar thing from Baker Street with him... ;-)

A bit, I think. But I don't know how much talking about his past Watson really does. He would answer if asked, I think, but perhaps not offer it otherwise. It's old news. :)
