Canon Story: The Gloria Scott
Title: A Cunning Plan
Rating: PG
A/N: Yes, okay, so I said I wasn't going to join in on this go-round. But then everyone else was, and it seemed silly not to, and... Let's go with 'I may not do all of them' this time round instead.

When Watson claims he caught me in 'a communicative humour', what the cunning devil means is that he set in place a deliberate plan to coax my past from me. He bided his time until I was in a jubilant mood, then got me atrociously drunk and flattered me until the words just spilled out, right into his eager ears.

Good plan that, Watson, success almost guaranteed.

I'm delighted that you're joining in again.

Not to mention that having encouraged them to do so, it seems wrong not to take part ;)

A few is still so much better than none! :)

"Atrociously drunk" sounds too good to be true. We need a movie adaptation that compares Watson's writings with the real happenings. *chuckles* Great idea!

Wonderful! I'm delighted to see you back! Look, I want this to be a relaxed, fun place for reading and fic. Write when you want to. We'll always be happy to read. :)

And this is such a cute scene. Flattery will in fact get you everywhere, with Holmes at least. Watson's a smart man. Love it!

Lovely! Watson is definitely smarter than he lets on, especially where finding out stuff about Holmes is concerned.

Love this explanation for how the story began as well as Holmes being atrociously drunk which is a really great expression that I plan to use in future.

Clever Watson - and wonderful you, to join up again for another 60 (or however many you decide to do). I'm so glad!
