Canon Story: The Gloria Scott

Title: Regrets

Author: Chess Ka

Rating: G

I could not persuade my friend to stay. Despite my greatest efforts, Sherlock was determined to return to his London rooms to continue his chemical experiments. Perhaps he felt that he had made things uncomfortable the night before. I desperately wished that he would stay: things were considerably easier with company.

I returned alone. The house felt cavernous without him.

It's great to read a version from Victor Trevor's viewpoint. I think we tend to forget how sad it would be for him too.

Glad that you've joined us.

Great idea, to have Victor's point of view! I like the sense of him having lost support when Sherlock left, which makes his sending for him later make sense.

I love Victor's perspective here. Without his friend, he's left in that miserable situation with his father, alone. Ouch. So good.

So good, and your first 60 to boot! Welcome to our comm! We're delighted you're here. I'm the mod here, so let me know if you need anything. Thanks for writing!

I too saw it as really very sad for Victor. He was planning a summer with his friend and then all of a sudden the friend his gone, the staff is on edge, his father is consumed with worry and this Hudson fellow is driving them all a bit mad and then his father gets sick and dies and victor is all alone dealing with that. I was very sad for him and I think you capture that beautifully.

I agree that this must have been very hard for Victor, to be left alone facing that situation. Nice work!

Holmes has never been the best at knowing how to support a friend - interesting to see how he flubbed his first chance. Lovely point of view piece.
