Canon Story: The Musgrave Ritual
Title: The Musgrave Spider: View from the Cellar (part of the Ocelot Tales)
Author: [info]thesmallhobbit
Rating: G (We do not see the spider, merely hear her thoughts)
A/N: After last week I decided I would continue with the Ocelot Tales, wherein various members of the animal kingdom reflect on Holmes, and as we progress Holmes and/or Watson.

This second man seems to be copying the first one, without having watched his actions.  The first one’s movements flowed, this one acts and then pauses, as if thinking what to do next.  Yet the second even picks up the same logs the first one used.  I wonder if his companion will take on the role of the other’s companion.

Oh good! I hope you keep up your Ocelot Tales for a while. I like 'em. Personal fondness for spiders. Cleverly written from her perspective! Given that some species of spiders kill the male after his manly duties are completed, it probably wasn't a shock to this spider to see the actions of the woman :-P

Now I'll be going round this week looking for spiders and wondering what they're thinking of me!

Bwahaha, priceless. XD It's always so much fun to analyse the patterns and have a bit of intentional comparison. ;P

I now have Charlotte's Web on my brain and expect a clue woven into a web to appear... Nice work:-)

I was reading the story thinking, 'Huh. No animals. I wonder what sort of tale we'll get from thesmallhobbit.'

Very innovative! I love it, and I love the observations as well. This works very, very well.

Heh!

(Now I have the mental image of a web saying "SOME DETECTIVE" over the 221B doorway....)

I was going to add a comment of my own, but I'll just second castiron's here, because it is classic.

Lovely! I really like the idea of the spider wondering if Watson would do the same thing as Brunson's companion... the parallel is very striking.
