MUSG2 – Winter Nights Beside the Fire

I had seen the signs coming for days. Winter had set in early, and the brutal weather kept us confined to our rooms.

I distracted Watson with one of my early cases, with promises of more. And so, like Scheherazade, my papers won a nightly reprieve until I managed to coax the use of a lumber-room out of Mrs. Hudson.

Oh great. Now I can't get the image of Holmes wearing a bellydancer costume out of my head anymore. Does anybody have a mental eraser? No? Okay...

Hee! And let's face it—Holmes really does enjoy spinning out these tales for his King Watson ;) Great job!

Mrs Hudson was very happy that Holmes was moving some of his papers out of his rooms. She was also not surprised that the good doctor did most of the moving.

I definitely like your idea here.

Holmes' stories make for marvelous storytelling, as we know well ourselves, a thousand nights or sixty weeks at a time.

Lovely! Makes me wish for a few of my own stories that could distract enough to avoid the housework :P

Oh, nice comparison, Holmes to Scheherazade. Given his dislike for cleaning up, I don't doubt that Holmes felt like he was telling stories for his life. :-)
