Canon Story: The Adventure of The Speckled Band
Title: An Aggrieved Snake (part of The Ocelot Tales)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] thesmallhobbit
Rating: PG

I think it is extremely unfair that I get the blame for causing Roylott’s death.  I liked the opportunity to visit a different room; it’s so tedious being confined to exercising in just one room.  But when I started my exploration someone hit me on the head.  I blamed Roylott for sending me where I’d be hit and bit him.

Oh this is so perfect. :-) Poor snake!
... At least Holmes didn't kill it.

FREEDOM!
Hehehehe... Channelling the Harry potter snake now. ;)
But per the snake:
_.:(______________;)~~~ yesssssssss. Ssssomewhere warm.

Or possibly the Reptile House at the Zoo.

Holmes probably needed to keep it long enough to show the coroner as evidence.

Oh no, the poor snake! It must have been so confused, especially after Holmes hit it. A cool POV to choose!

Reading SPEC again, I was struck by the abundance of exotic animals. Then I thought of your ongoing Ocelot Tales, wondering which you would pick! Good choice with presenting the POV of the unfortunate snake. Perhaps his blame should turn to credit?!

The snake. Innocent pawn, and, ultimately, unwitting bringer of natural justice. He deserved his say on the matter:-)

What a well-mannered fellow! I do hope they apologised to him on behalf of their species, and sponsored his journey home.

Yes, I hope the snake ended up in a better environment. A safe and a saucer of milk seem rather cruel.

Hehhe.. I love this! I'm a big fan of snakes, so it's nice to see it getting to tell its side of the story (-:

Well told - from the title character itself, no less. Thank you for this, when you were clearly spoiled for choice this week.

The snake has good reason to be upset! And now I'm curious about what happened to him after he went back in the safe. Uh oh.

Hee! Quite right! It wasn't the snake's fault, what happened... he was just doing as snakes do. He must have been pretty unhappy, cooped up in a cold metal safe so far from his native climes.

Honestly, I spent a good 20 second strying to decide if you were going baboon, cheetah, or snake. Love. Poor guy just wanting to have some adventure.
