Canon Story: REIG
Title: Staggering Relief

A/N: I skipped one because I totally meant to catch up, but this took me by surprise and wrote itself. I will be a responsible author and catch up. Hand to deity of your choice.

Holmes is not dead.

This is all he has been hoping for.

-----

The complete panic which had affected him once he understood Holmes had sent for him, must be in so bad a state that he admitted to needing his Watson; the emotion might have paralyzed him, except that instead it set him instantly into action. Anything to reach Holmes.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, we see what you did there. ;P Always a great moment in the story, isn't it?

Watson's concern and care for his friend is effectively portrayed in the beginning lines of this canon story. You've captured the sentiment perfectly!

This is a great rendering of that instant of horror for Watson. Well done.

I like the suggestion that, this early on, Watson isn't used to Holmes needing him, and that that emotion could have been really overwhelming (except our John Watson is nothing if not a man of action!). Well done!
