REIG – Castle

In the end, I agreed to leave Baker Street on a country visit to Watson’s friend not because I thought it would benefit my health, but for the preservation of his. I could recover anywhere, but Watson’s growing pallor, deeply shadowed eyes, and increasingly short temper with others (never me) indicated that he desperately needed a respite from his cares.

I like it! Holmes takes so little regard for his health that this certainly seems plausible. And I do like reading moments when Holmse care for Watson becomes apparent :)

I really did wonder why Holmes agreed so easily to leave his beloved London for a rest cure in the country, particularly since he'd been away for two months. :-) Thank you!

Hmm...an interesting theory.
In the end, Holmes and Watson trip to the country seemed to accomplish both purposes. Holmes felt better and Watson enjoyed got his country holiday.

Yes, everyone came out a winner - although poor Watson suffered through enough anxiety and worry in REIG that I can't help but think he needed a vacation to recover from this vacation!
