Canon Story: The Reigate Squires
Title: Colonel Hayter's Labrador (part of The Ocelot Tales)
Author: thesmallhobbit
Rating: G
Author's Note: There is no canon evidence that Colonel Hayter had a labrador, but since he had a gun room I think this is quite possible.
Ocelot's Note: Most of the contributors to the Tales are animals of great intelligence, this tale is included to illustrate the dangers of forming a conclusion before obtaining all the available data.

I have always said that it is amazing the good a brisk walk can do for both dog and man.  Look at that Holmes fellow: last night he was lethargic, almost apathetic, stretched out on the sofa.  Now, following a morning of fresh air and exercise, he is laughing and appears invigorated, looking ready for any challenge that may come.

It must be great to have such a simple outlook on life:-)

Neat deduction re likely presence of a dog, too!

Doesn't every dog thing their humans are happier when they go for walks? From a dog's perspective, I'd say they think walks are the panacea of all that ails a man!

Nice thoughts and perspective! Thanks.

Hee! Such a simple and straightforward view. Makes perfect sense to a dog. :-)
