I like the contrast here: Watson, honest and straightforward, cannot understand how anyone can abuse their position; Holmes, aware of the imperfections of mankind, determined that nevertheless they don't get away with it.

Very neat comparison of the different reactions of the pair to what happened. Watson 's default position is trust, Holmes' is wary cynicism.

Well done! I'd like to think that one of the ways Holmes valued Watson was for his honesty and strong moral sense. Helped keep Holmes from being jaded. :-)
