I have seen Holmes manipulate and twist everything, even me. But to now know that he would use my feelings for him against me is the greatest horror I have encountered.

Poor Watson, and poor Holmes, for never quite meeting in the middle of their feelings. To Holmes, a case is probably so important that it is a matter of love to be assisted in his doings, while Watson won't be able to understand his friend. As a beloved person who I'll never be able to convey my feelings to keeps stating: "Communication sucks". I love how your story conveys this ongoing theme between the two, so much in so little!

Yes, I think you have picked up on the worst part of Holmes' deception; using the one weapon guaranteed to hit home.
