Canon Story: The Blanched Soldier
Title: Writer's Nerves

Author's Notes: This happens after a certain fallout between Holmes and Jane.
Sherlock had never grown used to nervousness.
“Would you proofread it for me? I don’t want Watson to…”
“Done. I have added some misinformation concerning your methods, and erased the rather too sentimental notes. Do be more careful.”
Jane handed him the manuscript.
“How –“
“Why would Mrs Hudson still put up with you if she wasn’t on our payroll?”
Canon Story: The Three Gables

Author's Notes: It's probably the only story I ever found Holmes slightly misogynist in, although even today a lot of people would agree with him. The villain however, or antagonist, as I should say, is superb.
Jane was not amused.
“Clearly, Holmes, your wit must be fading. Persecuting a burglar, very well, but blackmailing a woman over private matters? I had thought you intelligent enough to judge from your own morals, not those of the common mob.”
“Has Miss Winter had this effect on you?”
“Says the bachelor who bought a man to live with him.”
